The Four Roles

Every character in Deck of Adventures belongs to one of four roles, each tied to a suit. Your role determines your playstyle, powers, and how you contribute to your party.

Martial

Strike Fast. Strike Hard.

The swift blade, the untouchable striker. Martials excel at mobile, aggressive combat—getting in, dealing consistent damage, and getting out before retaliation.

Spend 1-2 Power Cards to instantly teleport to any unoccupied space within 6-12 spaces. Strike from nowhere, vanish before retaliation.

Caster

Channel the Storm.

The glass cannon, the arcane artillery. Casters bring devastating burst damage potential but must position carefully to survive.

Defender

The Line Holds.

The immovable wall, the guardian shield. Defenders have the highest durability in the game and protect allies by controlling enemy attention.

Spend Power Cards to force an enemy within 4 spaces to make a Conviction save. On failure, they draw with Lower Hand on attacks against anyone but you.

The force multiplier, the team's backbone. Supports master resource management and keep allies fueled and fighting through long encounters.
