Lore

Thousands of Ink Blots coalesce into a nightmarish creature known as a Rorschach. No matter what images appear within its swirling ink, it is typically the last thing you'll ever see.

Behavior

The Rorschach opens with What Do You See? to inflict psychological damage and force saves, then uses Ink Splash to Stack targets for follow-up Stack Slams. It uses BL-INK to reposition to ink surfaces and Split Shuffle to spawn Ink Blots that steal power cards. When a suit breaks, Indiscernible triggers table-wide saves and Adaptive shifts its armor dynamically.

Major Actions

What Do You See?

MajorFar

Target one creature. The player looks at a real ink blot and describes what their character sees. Depending on the nature of the image, the GM calls a specific save. Default to Intuition Save, RC 3. On failure, the image manifests and deals damage using 3 of the cards drawn during the save.

Ink Splash

MajorClose

Draw to hit. On hit, the target makes an Agility Save, RC 3. On failure, they are Stacked.

Stack Slam

MajorTouch

Target a Stacked creature. Draw to hit with Upper Hand. Face cards deal 2 suits of damage.

BL-INK

Major

Teleport to any ink-based surface the Rorschach can see within Far range.

Round Actions

Ink Spray

Reaction

Trigger: Any time during combat

Target two creatures within Far range. Draw to hit, dealing 3 suits of damage to any target hit. If a target is hit, they are Slowed for one round.

Split Shuffle

Reaction

Trigger: Any time during combat

The Rorschach emits a burst of Ink Blots based on the number of black power cards currently on the table. Each Ink Blot has 2 black / 2 red HP. Power cards are stolen and unusable until the corresponding Ink Blots are destroyed.

Passive Abilities

Indiscernible: When a suit of HP is broken, everyone at the table makes a save, RC 3. The save called depends on the suit broken. All power cards on the table of that suit are activated and can deal damage to a character who fails the save. GM chooses which cards and which characters are targeted. Cards used this way are discarded. If all players succeed, the Rorschach takes damage for all activated cards to the other suit of the corresponding color (halved based on armor gained from Adaptive).
Adaptive: When one suit of a color is broken, gain armor to the other suit of that color. If the Rorschach loses both suits of one color, it deals +1 suit of damage on every attack for the rest of the combat.
